Psychiatric Mental Nurse Practitioner

Wiregrass Behavioral Group is actively looking for a for a full time (possibly part time) Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, experienced with adult, adolescent, and child patient populations who are passionate about patient care and committed to clinical excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, treat, and manage mental health disorders across the lifespan.
• Skillful utilization of a broad range of screening tools including but not limited to PHQ-9, GAD-7, and MDQ to provide additional information for the development of a patient centered psychiatric treatment plan.
• Provide Exceptional and timely documentation skills utilizing EHR for documentation of patient records.
• Be an advocate for mental health patients.
• Adhere to all compliance procedures relevant to protected health information (PHI) and HIPAA regulations.
• Provide in person treatment as well as some Telehealth appointments.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Graduation from a PMHNP program with minimum of master’s degree.
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification.
• Active Alabama licensure as a PMHNP.
• Valid DEA certificate with prescriptive authority as allowed for Alabama.
• Greater than one year of full-time work as a PMHNP.
• Experience in psychopharmacologic management of the spectrum of mental health disorders.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail.

Primary Duties

• Provide outpatient Therapy for psychiatric practice with clientele of all ages.
• Conduct Psychotherapy assessments and treatment of patients in person as well as and Telehealth.
• Apply the highest ethical standards to treat clients while in your care.
• Provide Exceptional and timely documentation skills utilizing EHR for documentation of patient records.
• Be an advocate for mental health patients.

Education

• Master’s degree in Social Work and valid licensure issued by Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners (LCSW).

Experience

• Two or more years of behavioral health experience post master’s degree.

 Contract Position

• This is a contract (1099) position with potential for employment.

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

• Two or more years of behavioral health experience post master’s degree.

Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC)
