Emily Bell is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She received both a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Social Work degree from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. During her earlier career in Birmingham, Emily provided intensive in-home and community based therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults per referrals from local Department of Human Resources (DHR) offices to try to maintain safety & stability in clients’ homes. She also provided therapy to children & adolescents in therapeutic foster care who had significant emotional and behavioral issues as well as histories of abuse and/or neglect. Since relocating to Dothan in 2010, Emily has worked as an outpatient therapist at local clinics. Throughout her career, she has helped clients manage a variety of issues, including anxiety/stress, depression, grief/loss, self harm (e.g. cutting), anger, social skills, substance abuse, eating disorders, and low self-esteem. She has also assisted clients who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, personality disorders, ADHD, ODD, and autism spectrum disorders. She has provided parenting support to help adults strengthen their parenting skills and understanding of their children’s behaviors and diagnoses and has assisted adults with co-parenting issues in divorce and custody situations. Emily provides therapy to clients within a wide range of ages, from children to older adults and provides individual, family, and marriage counseling.
