Andrea Godfrey Zavitz, M.S., M.B.A., LPC, LMHC

Andrea Godfrey Zavitz has worked with hundreds of families and individuals since she began her counseling career in 2009. Andrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and a National Certified Counselor. She also has her first master’s degree in Professional Counseling and her second master’s in Business Administration. Andrea is a guest lecturer and presenter for organizations including the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Alabama Department of Human Resources, Department of Health, and Bureau of Federal Prisons on stress management and other mental health topics. She has been featured on local TV stations and WOOF FM as well. She is a Disaster Mental Health volunteer with the American Red Cross.

Andrea has experience working in psychiatric hospitalization units for adults and adolescents, substance abuse counseling, in home-therapy for chronically mentally ill children, counseling for children with cerebral palsy and other challenges. Andrea has a background as a licensed special needs Exceptional Education teacher and was an adjunct professor for South University in Tampa, FL. In 2006, she started and ran a school for students with special needs in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Andrea Godfrey Zavitz privately practices at Wiregrass Behavioral Group and offers therapy for children, adults, families, and couples. She addresses anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and OCD; specializing in abuse issues, trauma, autism, PANDAS, anger management, ADHD, adoption issues, women’s issues, military family issues, and infant mental health. Her training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Feeling State Addictions Therapy, Sandplay, Hypnosis, Art, and Play Therapy.
